A Polo match, and why I hate bugs.

Well Friday night I was invited by one of my girlfriends to attend a polo match at the Horse Park. Deciding to be "oh so Kentucky" I thought sure this will be fun, I've never been to a polo match. It was quite neat, and was just like Pretty Woman, minus the hookers. I didn't get to stomp divets (or whatever they are called) on the field because I was of course late, but I did have a fun time tailgating and eating some sort of awesome spicy feta dip and having cocktails. I was determined to meet an Englishmen atop some stallion horse, however no such luck. What I did meet you ask? 576,987 gnats, 3 dogs, and a couple horses. That's' right GNATS. everywhere. I am not kidding when I tell you that at all times there were gnats crawling on my arms, back, and trying to nest in my hair. I had my extensions in, up in some sort of side messy bun thing because it was dreadfully humid that day and there was no way I could wear it down. Well apparently this was prime real estate for the little pesky mother effers because I had so many gnats in my hair I wanted to scream. I high tailed it out of there as soon as the polo match was over and we went back to my friend Emily's to take care of the pest situation in my hair. It was disgusting. I have no idea why there were so many gnats but holy bug infestation I was NOT ok with it. The silver lining-at least they didn't bite. Yuck, it makes me squirm just thinking about it. Anyways, here are some pics from the night.
Chrissy trying to pick burrowing gnats out of my hair. SO gross.
What did I learn? Next time, take one of these.

Hi! I am a new follower! You have such an adorable blog! I was reading your about me and noticed you are from Lexington, KY. I was born in Bowling Green and I actually go to school at WKU. I am a Phi Mu there and I love the whole sorority life thing. You truly do meet some of your best friends!

Yikes, the gnats are crazy! I've always wanted to go to a polo match, living in Ireland I hear about it a lot. If I ever decide to go I will be taking your suggestion, haha!

LOL you make me laugh (literally, out loud) every time I read your posts. That bonnet at the bottom is so necessary!

Is there anyway to contact you via email about a blog request?? If not...I wanted to say that I will keep reading and loving your blog even though I went to bed and felt like there were 576,987 gnats in my bed when I was trying to fall asleep last night!

Thanks for carrying around the souvenir Polo Ball. Tucker absolutely LOVES playing with it….Not sure why, but it is pretty funny. He growls, barks, and pounces on it and he wanted me to tell you thanks for bringing it home haha

This is COMPLETELY random, but I think I know one of the girls in these pictures! She is friends with my cousin from back in high school and we've had some great times at family weddings :) I don't want to call out someone by their full name on here, but she is in the picture with the horses (the one on the left) and her initials are SBF? is this correct?! I know she lives in Kentucky! If so, it would just reiterate how small this world is!

This looks like so much fun minus the bugs! I didn't even realize that this was going on.

Gnats sound horrible, def not something I'd expect at a Kentucky horse event, though it makes sense. You looked beautiful though. Gnats aside, I'd still love to venture down South and do something like this.
